Q. Do I need any experience?
A. No experience is required. The seminar is designed for complete beginners through to experienced practitioners. You will train at a pace that suits you.
Q. Am I fit enough for this?
A. Yes. Training is adapted for all fitness levels. You can take breaks at any time and our instructors will help you work safely within your abilities.
Q. Is this suitable for women?
A. Absolutely. Our training is highly supportive, inclusive and focused on practical self-defence skills that work for everyone. Many attendees come on their own and feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
Q. Is this safe?
A. Yes. Safety is our top priority. All drills are controlled, supervised and adjusted to suit your level. Protective equipment is recommended for extra comfort.
Q. Can I come alone?
A. Yes. Most people attend on their own. You will be partnered with someone of similar experience and the environment is friendly and welcoming.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Comfortable training clothes. What you might normally wear to the gym.
Q. Will I be hit?
A. You will never be pressured into anything you are not comfortable with. All contact levels are controlled and optional. You can opt out of any drill at any time.
Q. What if I have an injury?
A. Please let us know before training begins and we will modify drills so you can participate safely.
Q. Is this suitable for older adults?
A. Yes. We have many older participants. The training is adaptable and focuses on practical skills rather than high-intensity athletic movements.
Q. Will there be breaks?
A. Yes. Short breaks are provided throughout the seminar and you may rest whenever you need.
Q. What is the environment like?
A. Friendly, supportive and judgement-free. We aim to create a space where everyone feels safe, welcome and respected.
